Looking around…
The last weekend of November was quite busy, first we brought our neighbours to the airport since they went on vacation to Cuba. Then we went grocery shopping at the Real Canadian Superstore.
And in the afternoon we picked up Rosi, a colleague and friend, from the airport. She visited Canada to discuss a lot of work related stuff and showed me some of the tools and processes which were useful for me in my new job here. But enough about work.
Besides working there was also some time for shopping, sightseeing and food. We start with sushi at Sushi Supreme, probably the best sushi place in town and after that Rosi was tired from her jet-leg and went back to her hotel. The day after we all woke up early to be at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre when it opened.
After some shopping we took the car towards the Niagara Falls since that’s one must see attraction when you are in or near Toronto. The Falls were beautiful and we were lucky with the weather. After taking some pictures during daytime it was time for dinner. I had reserved a table for 3 at the Keg Steakhouse Fallsview. We got a table with an amazing view over the Falls.
During dinner the Falls were lit up and that made them even more beautiful. Unfortunately the weather changed and it was raining when we left the restaurant again so we only got a couple of pictures before we drove back to Toronto. Where we dropped Rosi off at her hotel.
On Monday evening we went sightseeing in Downtown which we combined with a dinner at the Amsterdam Brewhouse on the lake. Here you can get some delicious burgers and beers. On Wednesday we went to Absolute Comedy a local comedy club, and the majority of the jokes should be rated 18+. We had a blast and our face muscles hunted from laughing the day after.
Friday evening it was time for the company christmas party which involved great food, dancing, fun and alcohol. We are already looking forward to next year. And soon it was Saturday, time for Rosi to fly back home. But first we strolled through Bloor Street, Eaton Centre and had a great lunch at Signs.
Thanks for the great time together Rosi!
