Our Family life...

Going to the Bahamas…

After years of debating to go or not to go on a cruise we decided to do it this year. After all it’s not a special year at all, Mama is turning 33, Emily is turning 2, we are married for 9 years, we are together for 14 years and I turn 35 which makes it a grand total of 93! So we decided to make it something special ourselves.

Needless to say it needed to be with the Disney Cruise Line and after reviewing the possiblities we found a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas! The price was right, the available rooms were right, the weather is supposed to be right and ports of call sound interesting.

  • Day 1: Port Canaveral, Florida
  • Day 2: Nassau, Bahamas
  • Day 3: Disney Castaway Cay
  • Day 4: At Sea
  • Day 5: Port Canaveral, Florida

We’ll be sailing around on the Disney Dream, one of the bigger and newer ships. Doesn’t it look huge on the pictures? It’s also a ship we have not seen before. We had seen the Disney Fantasy in 2011 in New York City Disney Wonder in San Francisco in 2012.

We already know in which room we will stay, Stateroom no. 9610. It’s on the starboard side of the ship just behind the center of the ship and above the lifeboats. It’s a very spacious room but the price was more then reasonable compared to the other room types and we wanted to make this year special! The room looks pretty big for a room on a ship.

But to dive in some more details it’s not just a cruise. We arrive the night before embarkation (boarding) on Orlando International Airport (MCO) where we stay for the night in the Hyatt Regency. The morning after we step a board the Disney Cruise Line bus which brings us to Port Canaveral.

After disembarkation (leaving the ship) we pick up a Standard SUV at Alamo in Port Canaveral and we drive to the Dream Villa. It’s the same villa in which we stayed last year December and we can’t wait to go back. It’s very close to the Disney parks, has a nice pool with spa, grill, toys for Emily and fast internet for us.

Oh and the best thing every day it’s a day less until we are back in our favourite state in the United States:

Can’t wait to be back again and meet all our Disney favourites!
