Day 13: First roller coaster ride…

Finally we went to the Magic Kingdom of Mickey Town! We woke up really early, we arrived at the parking at 8:45am, parked on Simba 118 and walked towards the Polynesian Resort to take the monorail from there directly to the park. We love the new bag check system as now you arrive at the entrance and you can just walk into the park. Ok we needed to scan our MagicBand first but still..

After entering the park the first stop was the Meet & Greet with Elena of Avalor (Enena) and Cinderella (Ella) but honestly it felt like we went to Arendelle or the Northpole. The air-conditioning was blowing so cold people starting turning blue. If we don’t get a cold from this we are super humans. Emily was over excited meeting Elena, she couldn’t stop talking about it and she almost took Cinderella with her to introduce her to Elena (they stand side by side).

Next was our first FastPass+ of the day, meeting Rapunzel (not recognizable yet) and Tiana (Tia). Emily was really cold but she wanted all of them to see her Sofia and she wanted to see their shoes so she could show her Crocs.

After this meet & greet we decided to have a short water break in the shades as it was really hot outside. Emily was still talking about Elena…

Next was a first time for everyone, we went on the train around the park, we got of at the Main street station as this was really close to our meet & greet location with Tinkerbel. Emily liked her more this time.

First thing Emily wanted to do was going back on the train. We got of at the Fantasyland station which is where we parked the stroller. And it was also really close to Ariel’s Grotto where we had another meet & greet, Ariel (Aiel) was really chatty and Emily was only pointing at her mermaid tail and showed her Crocs which had Ariel on them.

While in line I got Danielle a FastPass (no. 4) for Space Mountain, we would ride this on our way out of the park. While Danielle scanned her FastPass we went to one of my favourite rides in Tomorrowland, the PeopleMover. At first Emily wanted to sit opposite from me it API the first corner she almost fell over and she wanted to sit with me, selfie time! Oh and we got stuck with a beautiful view on Cinderella’s Castle…

I also got us another FastPass for at It’s a Small World. Emily loved the ride, unfortunately it was to dark for the GoPro to film her clapping and dancing.

Again in line waiting to get onboard I got us another FastPass for The Barnstormer. The Barnstormer is a rollercoaster for children, we’ve never done this ride but since Emily is 94 cm. she is tall enough know (89 cm. is the minimum height requirement) this was our chance.

She loved lining up and watching the plane themed train going over the track, she loved getting in the vehicle. She liked going up the hill, she screamed really loud going down through the curves, and she loved getting out of the train… When she came out she had a really big proud smile on her face and we took a selfie, but when I asked if she wanted to go again she said no… We’ll see about that I do have another FastPass for later this trip!

Now we decided to head back to the car by boat and walking as Emily fell a sleep. On the way home we took a short detour to the Chick-Fill-A for a late lunch 2pm. Emily wasn’t really hungry and was a bit annoyed so we thought time for bed.

At home she felt a bit warm (apparently Emily is not a super human 😉 ), as she had developed a fever. We put her to bed for a nap, she woke up for dinner but went right back to bed after it. Let’s hope she feels better tomorrow but for sure it is going to be a lazy day.

Day 3: The Seasational Sea Day…

Oh my god, today’s was amazing! If anyone would have told me that a cruise would be this good I would have booked it even earlier!!!

Today the sea is still rocky but we don’t have any problems with sea sickness, nauseous or something else. Although maybe walking straight could be considered a problem, unless your are really drunk you in that case you would not even stand out.

Emily woke up really early but mama got her back into her big girl bed with some mama magic, after which she slept till 8am. That was also the time we set our alarm as we had a Disney Jr. breakfast planned where we got to meet Doc McStuffins, Jake the Neverland Pirate, Mickey Mouse and Princess Sofia the First.

Emily loved meeting her favorites, and it was close but Sofia was still a bit more interesting as the boss himself (Mickey Mouse).

After breakfast we walked outside on our way way visited a couple other characters which had meet & greets on the ship. What a wind by the way, we felt the sea water spraying in our faces although we where on Deck 4, about 2-3 above sea level.

Back to the characters the first one we visited was Daisy, who got a hug and multiple kisses from our little princess.

Next was Cinderella, Emily was jumping up and down, blew kisses and when she said bye Cinderella got a big hug.

From all these meet & greets we got hungry and we went to Cabana’s, a buffet restaurant, for lunch. I’m not entirely sure what we all had but mama and I loved the pepper grilled shrimps and Emily was happy with her white rice and green beans.

After lunch we continued with characters. We started with Minnie Mouse, one bundle of joy exploded. Emily didn’t really know what to do but there were multiple kisses and hugs and a lengthy goodbye.

The last one before lunch was Tinkerbel, she didn’t really like her and she didn’t even want to sit close to her. I do believe it’s the wings…

The next character was Ariel, she was the first of 4 princesses we got to meet in the Atrium. This is a ticket event and thus the wait was relatively short. While in line Emily kept pointing at Ariel and shouting her name until it was finally her moment, that’s when she got star struck. But she recovered…

Next was Cinderella which she met earlier today already.

Finally she got to meet Princess Belle. She loved her and eventually she didn’t want to leave her but Princess Tiana was next…she saved us for problems by keeping Emily busy and distracted.

Emily was really tired and we had “It’s a Small World” booked for that time. While mama went back to the stateroom to grab Emily her stuff for in the club we walked through the ship until she saw the Sign for the club… that’s where she broke down in tears.

Within minutes after we handed Emily over to the crew she was quiet and later we learned that she slept about an hour ate crackers and a banana. In the meantime we went to the Buena Vista Theater to see Cars 3 for the first time, great movie better as number 2 but not as amazing as the first one.

After the movie it was time to pick our little princess up, she enjoyed herself. So much that she wanted to show me what she was doing  but that’s not allowed as it’s a club for kids not for parents.

Tonight it was also the formal night on the cruise and thus time to dress up. Mama and Emily had pretty dress and I went in a suit with a shirt matching with the dress from Mama.

We were really lucky while we were able to join the line for a picture with Captain Mickey Mouse before dinner. This was Emily her 2nd meet with him but she couldn’t stop kissing him. I asked Mickey if he would be in trouble if Minnie would knew about it and we both came to the conclusion that we keep that info between us.

Just after taking a picture with Mickey I saw Princess Tiana and  Princess Bell standing around on deck 5. Time for pictures…

Finally dinner time…the whole table went for the Ahi Tuna appetizer. Danielle and Emily went for the Oven Baked Salmon as entree and I picked the Sea Scallops. Everything was delicious and to top it of the desserts where amazing!

Emily was still relatively awake and thus we went on take some nice pictures with beautiful backdrops.

After the boring ones we stood in line for a picture with Minnie Mouse and that’s when we reached Emily’s limit. After the picture we went back to our room.

Tonight it was my turn to stay with Emily in our state room, which gave me time to download the pictures from and Danielle was able to enjoy Aladdin the Musical.

The show was great and after the show she got a picture together with Donald before she got back to the stateroom. We finished packing the last items for our beach excursion on Cozumel, Mexico tomorrow.

And not to forget we need to set the clocks back one hour as we arrived in a different time zone which meant an additional hour sleep tonight.

Day 2: Embarking the Disney Fantasy…

Yesterday night Emily got to sleep in a big queen size bed, she felt a bit lonely and asked me (papa) to join her. Emily slept like a baby, mama slept very well and papa slept a little bit too and when we woke up we watched a movie! At 8am our suitcases needed to be ready for pickup and right after we left our room for breakfast.

We took the Disney Transportation bus towards Disney Springs to get breakfast and coffee at the Starbucks. After strolling through the shopping area we took the bus back to our resort and we figured 45 minutes would give us plenty of time.

But that went a bit different as we planned… After 25 minutes there was still no bus and our checkout time, the time we couldn’t enter our room to get our last bags, came closer and closer. Plan B was one of us taking an Über, the other the bus with Emily. Emily wanted to stay with me and so Danielle got her first Über experience. In the end Emily and I arrived at the resort at 10:59 and quicker as Mama but we couldn’t exit the bus.

Luckily I was able to extend our hotel stay with one hour which gave us a bit spare time to get our stuff. Danielle went to our room to grab our last luggage and I went to the playground with Emily.

At 11:45 the Disney Cruise Line bus picked us and from there everything went fast. We got through security and in no time we embarked on our second Disney Cruise, this ship is even nicer as the Dream (I think).

We didn’t know where to beginning but we since we had some stuff to carry we decided that it would be our state room but, Emily wanted to walk up the gigantic stairs…who did we find at the end of the stairs? Princess Ariel…

The second stop was our stateroom 7682, great choice a bit smaller as last time but the restricted balcony is perfect. After exploring the stateroom we went to “It’s a small world” to register Emily for her time in the club. As soon as we came into the club she started crying, most likely since she recognized it from last time…that promises something for tomorrow. Time for some food as it was 2pm already, we went to Flo’s Cafe for fried chicken and tenders with French frites.

Soon it was time for my beer exchange. What is a beer exchange I hear people think… In short: practically every sailing has a Facebook group page which connects the people booked on that particular cruise, on the group for this cruise lots of people organized a lot of things like recipe, gift, ornament and thus a beer exchange. I participate in the beer exchange which meant every participant brought 6 beers on board which where exchanged in the atrium at 2:45pm and in that way you could drink some unique local beers.

After exchanging the beers we met up in our room again where Emily was about to take her afternoon nap. Unfortunately it took a while before we were able to put her down and she could only sleep 35 minutes before the mandatory safety drill started but better a little bit as not at all…

The drill was quite entertaining as Emily was distracted by almost everything in the nightclub (The Tube) were we had our drill. From there we went to the Sail Away part where we met Danny & family for the first time. Danny is a colleague of mine and we happened to be on the same ship.

After the party we met up with Pluto and Daisy Duck before it was time for dinner. And yes she still loves the characters, I actually think she loves them more as before.

Dinner was amazing, we had a lot of fun with our table guest (Danny & family). Emily went for the fries and chicken tenders, mama had the Salmon Tartar, the chicken breast and as dessert a lemon cheesecake. I got the salmon tartar, the tuna steak and cookies n’ cream ice. Ridiculously delicious!

After dinner we checked the special tree lighting ceremony and then it was bedtime for Emily. The room was already filled with our suitcases and thus it was a bit crowded but Emily went to bed easy, she must have been really tired.

I left the room as soon as Emily was a sleep and went to the Walt a Disney Theater to watch the show. When the show was over I got my picture taken with Mickey before I went to the room and quickly went to bed as I was exhausted.
