Yesterday evening I switched our earliest FastPass for a later one and I’m happy we did. I was still tired when we woke up but that might have something to do with the fact that it is our last day…
At 10:00 we arrived at the Ticket & Transportation Center where we took the boat to Magic Kingdom. First stop was the Speedway, a ride we have never done before but we thought this would be really funny with Emily behind the steering wheel…but steering was way to hard and I needed to lean over her to steer. The positive we made it without bumping into Mama in the car in front of us, the negative Emily liked it… lucky for us the wait line was long and we had a reason not to go again. The remainder of the day she kept talking about the “autos” and every time we passed them she wanted to go there.
After our race we split up, I wanted to ride another ride we had never done before the Astro Orbiter and Mama wanted to see the Carousel of Progress. Simple solution Emily and I took the elevator to the rockets and Mama went for the carousel. After 5 minutes in line Emily wanted to go to the restroom (WC?) so we diverted course. After this detour we went back in line. Every thing went well until we sat down in our rocket…
She started crying and screaming but as soon as the rockets blast off she got quiet and enjoyed the view, she even pointed out the “autos” and the train (peoplemover). Mama was done and after ride we took the elevator back to ground to join mama. Next stop was our next FastPass the Haunted Mansion. Emily loves her dark rides, she sat on the edge of the seat to watch as much as possible.
Now it was time for lunch which I ordered through Mobile Order at the Columbia Harbour House, we enjoyed it upstairs with a view into Fantasyland, the ride It’s a Small World to be exact. Emily pointed this out a between every bite she had.
Lunch was done and we went towards Adventureland to go on a Jingle Cruise. Terrible experience way to many flies navidad…and similar jokes. Really funny the Christmas make over on that ride.
Emily was still very active and since it was the last day we took advantage of it, next stop Dumbo the Flying Elephant. But on our way I pointed at the teacups and Emily liked that idea a lot, we have never done that ride in Mickey Town as far as I can remember. But when I asked if she wanted to go on the Barnstormer and surprisingly she said no…
When I asked if she wanted to say bye to Daisy, Minnie, Goofy and Donald she was excited. And so we did, unfortunately Daisy got sick and we missed her but the other meets where amazing. As soon as the previous guest was gone she ran to them and gave them a big hug and the full treatment. Donald almost fell over when she gave him a kiss, maybe while she was holding beak to make sure he didn’t run away? Just kidding she was very gentle for a 2-year old.
After the last character meeting we went to Under the Sea to say bye to Ariel and Flounder. However when I told Emily we were going to say bye to Ariel she ran of straight to Ariel’s Grotto. Very special to see that see remembers all of these meetings and where her favourites are, earlier in the day she told us where Elena was but the line was too long.
Last ride of the day and thus the vacation was It’s a Small World die to multiple request from Emily. We were lucky and got to sit front row in the boat, she loved it and didn’t know where to look at.
The last stop in the park was the Sunshine Tree Terrace, I was looking at the Citrus Swirl Orange Float (Citrus Orange and Vanilla soft-serve ice cream floating in orange soda) every time we passed, and today was my last chance! And it was delicious!
Now we left the Magic Kingdom with the intention to check out the Grand Floridian (a deluxe hotel a long the monorail track) but the monorail (mamaro) was very slow on service and we decided to change plans and go back to the car right away. The plan was to go home so Emily had her afternoon nap in her bed, but she slept before I left our section of the parking lot. Chance of plan number 2, we drove around a little bit got us a Starbucks and after about an hour we parked at Disney Springs.
We walked around a little bit and did some last minute shopping before we got our dinner at Earl of Sandwich. While I was waiting for our order mama and Emily got a picture taken wit a beautiful Christmas tree…
After we were done eating we walked through the Christmas Tree Trail full with Disney themed trees. Really well done.
The next stop was our car to go back to Townhouse for the last time… And for all readers that means only one more blog and this vacation over…
After I published last nights blog yesterday evening I had an interesting encounter with a cockroach! I had never seen one before (I think) and this one was at least 5 cm. and it jumped/flew around the bathroom…that’s wasn’t the late night excitement I was looking for.
The morning started relatively early after yesterday’s late night but we decided to have a slow start. The Mickey Town Park of today would be the Magic Kingdom and we didn’t want to rush.
The first FastPass was The Barnstormer, the kiddie coaster, Emily loved it until we drove up the lift hill. She was actually screaming but at the end she was really proud and smiling. I asked her if she liked it and she answered yes but she didn’t want to go again…
We had some time to kill until the next FastPass, the wait at Pete’s Silly Sideshow was very short (10 minutes for Goofy & Donald, 15 for Daisy & Minnie) and Emily loves meeting characters. She is always so excited if she is the next one to meet them, jumping, pointing, telling us who she’s going to meet, etc. Gives me goosebumps every time. And when she needs to say goodbye a kiss, a hug and a very loud bye <insert character name> while walking away looking back at them.
Next stop Under the sea! A ride which tells the story of the Little Mermaid! The ride was very exciting to all of us with Emily clapping, dancing and shouting to the characters she recognized. Only during the scene with Ursula, the sea witch, she got very quiet.
The weather wasn’t great, better to say bad with multiple short rain showers, and that made us decide to get an early lunch at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn. Good food and dress them yourself tortilla chips! Delicious…
When we were done with our lunch we still had 15 minutes left until our Pirates of the Caribbean FastPass was due. The line for the Flying Carpets was only 15 minutes and Emily was excited to go on them too, perfect! Until the carpets went flying she didn’t really like it anymore…
She was happy after we landed and she wanted to go again…but it was time for our FastPass. Emily loved it p, the drops made her giggle. The onside photo shows something else in her face but that’s because I wanted to hold her before the drop making sure she didn’t tell her seat and I scared her…
We left Magic Kingdom with the resort boat to the Polynesian Village Resort for a Pineapple Dole Whip, delicious and some shopping in the resort shop.
After the ice cream was gone it was time to go back to the Townhouse to get Emily to bed, she slept from 3-4:30pm her normal nap time again. Today the fever was completely gone, her appetite was back, the only thing she still does know is coughing…but that will go away too!
In the evening we went for groceries and since Emily was still hungry but it was late already we stopped at a McDonalds for a quick meal on the way back home.
Finally we went to the Magic Kingdom of Mickey Town! We woke up really early, we arrived at the parking at 8:45am, parked on Simba 118 and walked towards the Polynesian Resort to take the monorail from there directly to the park. We love the new bag check system as now you arrive at the entrance and you can just walk into the park. Ok we needed to scan our MagicBand first but still..
After entering the park the first stop was the Meet & Greet with Elena of Avalor (Enena) and Cinderella (Ella) but honestly it felt like we went to Arendelle or the Northpole. The air-conditioning was blowing so cold people starting turning blue. If we don’t get a cold from this we are super humans. Emily was over excited meeting Elena, she couldn’t stop talking about it and she almost took Cinderella with her to introduce her to Elena (they stand side by side).
Next was our first FastPass+ of the day, meeting Rapunzel (not recognizable yet) and Tiana (Tia). Emily was really cold but she wanted all of them to see her Sofia and she wanted to see their shoes so she could show her Crocs.
After this meet & greet we decided to have a short water break in the shades as it was really hot outside. Emily was still talking about Elena…
Next was a first time for everyone, we went on the train around the park, we got of at the Main street station as this was really close to our meet & greet location with Tinkerbel. Emily liked her more this time.
First thing Emily wanted to do was going back on the train. We got of at the Fantasyland station which is where we parked the stroller. And it was also really close to Ariel’s Grotto where we had another meet & greet, Ariel (Aiel) was really chatty and Emily was only pointing at her mermaid tail and showed her Crocs which had Ariel on them.
While in line I got Danielle a FastPass (no. 4) for Space Mountain, we would ride this on our way out of the park. While Danielle scanned her FastPass we went to one of my favourite rides in Tomorrowland, the PeopleMover. At first Emily wanted to sit opposite from me it API the first corner she almost fell over and she wanted to sit with me, selfie time! Oh and we got stuck with a beautiful view on Cinderella’s Castle…
I also got us another FastPass for at It’s a Small World. Emily loved the ride, unfortunately it was to dark for the GoPro to film her clapping and dancing.
Again in line waiting to get onboard I got us another FastPass for The Barnstormer. The Barnstormer is a rollercoaster for children, we’ve never done this ride but since Emily is 94 cm. she is tall enough know (89 cm. is the minimum height requirement) this was our chance.
She loved lining up and watching the plane themed train going over the track, she loved getting in the vehicle. She liked going up the hill, she screamed really loud going down through the curves, and she loved getting out of the train… When she came out she had a really big proud smile on her face and we took a selfie, but when I asked if she wanted to go again she said no… We’ll see about that I do have another FastPass for later this trip!
Now we decided to head back to the car by boat and walking as Emily fell a sleep. On the way home we took a short detour to the Chick-Fill-A for a late lunch 2pm. Emily wasn’t really hungry and was a bit annoyed so we thought time for bed.
At home she felt a bit warm (apparently Emily is not a super human 😉 ), as she had developed a fever. We put her to bed for a nap, she woke up for dinner but went right back to bed after it. Let’s hope she feels better tomorrow but for sure it is going to be a lazy day.
