Running in Disney…
As some of you might have seen on our Twitter and/or Facebook accounts we started running about 12 weeks ago. Not with a real goal but just to do something which doesn’t takes a lot of our time because we don’t have a lot of time to move. In march we invested in running shoes and clothing and since than we have both covered over 100 km in total. Danielle is in training for the 6k run from B2Run end of July and she is right on track since she already runs 5k in about 35 minutes, I’m running 5k in about 28 minutes right now but I’m not participating in that run. And as a proof we can show our FourSquare badges:
So until yesterday I didn’t had a real goal except for running 10 km without any breaks later this year. And than I found out about RunDisney.com. RunDisney organises running events in Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort. And I found out that during our stay in Walt Disney World there is the Wine & Dine Half Marathon. But that one was sold out already and I guess that is not really bad since I’m definitely not able to run a half marathon this year. But for the less trained there is also the Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K. And since we are both able to run the 5K already this shouldn’t be a problem and so I registered us for the run, the only real problem is the start at 7 o’clock in the morning during our vacation.
But we will not be running for the best time since there is a lot of entertainment along the track and I think it’s best to make pictures from that. There is music and there are a lot of Disney characters a long the track too. And maybe the most interesting part is that the track is through Animal Kingdom as you can see in the RunDisneyTV Movie below:
I can’t wait to participate and finish!
Hotel for free…
For years we are Priorityclub member and we’ve a pretty high number of points. With those points you can get things for free. So we decided to use our points we’ve collected for a hotel stay if we find a nice but expensive hotel.
The start of our autumn/winter vacation will be in Miami and we decided to stay for 2 nights in the Miami Beach area. The Miami beach area is located on multiple man-made islands and has a beach directly to the atlantic ocean. But that also makes the hotel prices raise.
After checking the web we found some hotels from which one is the Crowne Plaza South Beach – Z Ocean Hotel. This is an all-suite boutique hotel with only 79 suites. It doesn’t has a direct overlook on the ocean from all rooms but the rooms look nice and it’s walking distance from the beach and only a 15 minutes drive from the airport.

And best of all it’s free with our points, so we are off to a good start for our vacation.
