Canada’s Wonderland…

After the spontaneous idea of visiting Canada’s Wonderland together this sunday I immediately looked for tickets on my iPhone. I found out that the following deal was still available:

wonderland

Sunday morning I first got us a coffee from the local Starbucks before Sabrina arrived to pick us up. Just after opening at 10:00am we arrived and within 10 minutes Danielle and I got our seasonal passes and we entered the park.

The first coaster of the day was the Leviathan, an amazing coaster with a top speed of 148 km/h. Followed by the Wild Beast, a wooden coaster which we will not enter again…my head still hurts. And The Bat a Boomerang coaster which was amazon. Fun-fact: a girl asked me or we were foreign exchange students… 🙂 I guess the students in Canada are all 30+?

After this 3rd coaster we had a short break and we enjoyed a Strawberry Ice Cream Funnel Cake before we went to the Behemoth the 2nd largest coaster of the park and again it was amazing. Then we went on the Backlot Stuntcoaster which both Danielle and I thought was a kiddie coaster…but it got us by surprise. We both came out a bit dizzy and needed a short break.

After enjoying the view over the park and towards downtown Toronto in the Windseeker, a 92 high tower swinger, we decided it was time to go back home.

Danielle and I went to look for furniture and maybe have found a new couch, only the color is unclear. We hope to order the couch as soon as possible.

Niagara Falls…

Yesterday we decided that it was time for some fun this weekend after this very busy first days in Toronto. The weather was better as usual for this time of the year and Danielle really wanted to see the Niagara Falls for the first time so we decided to drive there.

We left the hotel early to get some gas, get some coffee and drive to the Falls! On the way down we passed the hotel I stayed in together with my dad and John a friend of us in 2003 during the World Championship Cycling in which my sister participated. Since this weekend the championship took place again I thought it was cool to get a picture in front of the hotel again.

We arrived at 10:30 and had beautiful blue skies. We wandered around made a lot of pictures and enjoyed the warm (27°C) and sunny weather.

After some coffee we left and drove back to Toronto while we stopped at the Shepherd Gardens to check-out the mall.

At about 4:00pm we were back in the hotel and after freshening up we went to the city with the subway to visit Sabrina, the wife of Martin a colleague of mine. They will be our neighbors soon and since we were curious after how they live, what’s living in the Minto Towers like and things to do in the area we thought it was a good idea to meet!

Sabrina reserved a table at TabĂĽle, a restaurant which served middle eastern food and had a belly dance act! We had a really pleasant time and learned lots about living at Yonge and Eglinton too. And on top of that we made a spontaneous decision to go to Canada’s Wonderland the day after.
