Day 9: Girls going to Epcot…

Today was going to be a day for just Emily and me because Sander is working this week.

We woke up early and at exactly 9:00 am we entered the park. It was really quiet so Emily and I went to The Seas with Nemo and friends. Emily was really impressed with all the the fishes and the bright colors. Then it was snack time for Emily and after the pears we went shopping in Mouse Gear where we bought a book called “5 Minutes Snuggle Stories”.

As World Showcase opened at 11:00 am Emily was taking a nap and I walked around the World Showcase Lagoon. And off course I saw a lot of characters with almost no waiting lines. But Emily was sleeping so the only thing I could hope for was that the lines would still be that short by the time she wakes up.

And they were. Unfortunately Belle just went on a break but we got some nice pictures with Jasmine and Mulan. I just love Photopass+ and the fact that your pictures are almost directly available in the app.

We made a pit stop at Epcot’s Baby Care Center and then decided to leave the park. As soon as the car started driving Emily fell asleep. I wanted to go to Chick-fil-a for a late lunch but I didn’t want to wake here up so I drove through the drive-through.

Before Emily went to bed tonight we off course read the first story from her new book “Thumper’s Nighttime Adventure”.

Day 8: Freezing cold in Florida…

We knew that the upcoming week was going to be colder but today it was really cold. Even for us who are used to a Canadian winter.

After our morning ritual we were driving in the direction of Magic Kingdom. But this time not to visit the park but for Sander to pick up his rental car at the Disney Car Care Center for this week. As some of you may know Sander needs to work this week by attending Distributech at the Orange County Convention Center and that’s starting today by preparing the Siemens booth which means Emily and I have a couple a days where it’s just girls days.

After we picked up Sander’s car we drove to Animal Kingdom since Sander’s work started in the afternoon. Because the rental car thing took longer then expected we missed our Fast Pass but we decided to take the train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch to meet Chip & Dale.

Inside the building Emily got to touch her first animal, a guinea pig. Next was meeting with Chip & Dale outside. She really liked both of them, especially their noses. And off course she got two new autographs in her book. When the photo shoot was over we saw Tarzan walking by. Taking a picture with him was not only a first for Emily it was also a first for Sander and me.

Now it was time to leave Rafiki’s Planet Watch and get back on the train. Emily really enjoyed the train ride and was looking around all the time. Because it was so cold we decided to leave the park and that was where Sander was going to work and Emily and I went home and relaxed there for the rest of the day.
