Day 17: Magical start…

After I published last nights blog yesterday evening I had an interesting encounter with a cockroach! I had never seen one before (I think) and this one was at least 5 cm. and it jumped/flew around the bathroom…that’s wasn’t the late night excitement I was looking for.

The morning started relatively early after yesterday’s late night but we decided to have a slow start. The Mickey Town Park of today would be the Magic Kingdom and we didn’t want to rush.

The first FastPass was The Barnstormer, the kiddie coaster, Emily loved it until we drove up the lift hill. She was actually screaming but at the end she was really proud and smiling. I asked her if she liked it and she answered yes but she didn’t want to go again…

We had some time to kill until the next FastPass, the wait at Pete’s Silly Sideshow was very short (10 minutes for Goofy & Donald, 15 for Daisy & Minnie) and Emily loves meeting characters. She is always so excited if she is the next one to meet them, jumping, pointing, telling us who she’s going to meet, etc. Gives me goosebumps every time. And when she needs to say goodbye a kiss, a hug and a very loud bye <insert character name> while walking away looking back at them.

Next stop Under the sea! A ride which tells the story of the Little Mermaid! The ride was very exciting to all of us with Emily clapping, dancing and shouting to the characters she recognized. Only during the scene with Ursula, the sea witch, she got very quiet.

The weather wasn’t great, better to say bad with multiple short rain showers, and that made us decide to get an early lunch at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn. Good food and dress them yourself tortilla chips! Delicious…

When we were done with our lunch we still had 15 minutes left until our Pirates of the Caribbean FastPass was due. The line for the Flying Carpets was only 15 minutes and Emily was excited to go on them too, perfect! Until the carpets went flying she didn’t really like it anymore…

She was happy after we landed and she wanted to go again…but it was time for our FastPass. Emily loved it p, the drops made her giggle. The onside photo shows something else in her face but that’s because I wanted to hold her before the drop making sure she didn’t tell her seat and I scared her…

We left Magic Kingdom with the resort boat to the Polynesian Village Resort for a Pineapple Dole Whip, delicious and some shopping in the resort shop.

After the ice cream was gone it was time to go back to the Townhouse to get Emily to bed, she slept from 3-4:30pm her normal nap time again. Today the fever was completely gone, her appetite was back, the only thing she still does know is coughing…but that will go away too!

In the evening we went for groceries and since Emily was still hungry but it was late already we stopped at a McDonalds for a quick meal on the way back home.
