Our Family life...

Day 6: Jamaica gave us Good Hope…

We woke up to some engine noise around 7am this morning but that was quite ok, Emily slept another half hour and when she woke up we decided to get breakfast at Royal Court. This is a table service breakfast restaurant on the ship.

Emily wanted to take “a wolk” so that came in handy. During breakfast she was a little bit annoyed but had fun feeding me. After breakfast we booked a placeholder for our next cruise, whenever that will be and we walked around the ship.

All of a sudden Emily wanted to go “naar bed” and thus we let her go to bed again for a morning nap. She must be exhausted from all the new things and meeting so many new friends.

While Emily was sleeping I went to Margaritaville to get a Red Stripe (Jamaican beer) and some free but very slow WiFi. Mama stayed in the room with our sleeping beauty and at 11am I got back to pick up my princesses for a Port adventure at the Good Hope Estate, one of the more famous buildings on the island.

At 11:45am we were expected in the D-Lounge, from there we went to the bus which took us to the Good Hope Estate. We expected a self guided excursion through the estate but it turned out to be a bit different, not bad but not what we had in mind while booking this excursion. The buffet was nice but very limited and the food was cold before we could start eating. Emily however liked the rice and ate a lot of it.

The way back was very unorganized as our tour group broke in multiple pieces, however everyone got back on the ship in time. We had a very adventurous ride back in a kind of a jungle bus from the Estate at 600 meter to the transportation area on sea level. There we needed to change to the bus which brought us back to Port. For extra special effect they drive on the left side of the road in Jamaica and we sat in a former Japanese bus!

As soon as Emily saw the boat she said “naar bed” again and thus we were happy that we got on board quickly, in no time she was a sleep. That’s when I went for a stroll through the ship checking out places I had not seen yet and in the end I got to meet Goofy, Donald, Captain Hook & Mr. Smee and Captain Jack Sparrow before it was time to go to the room again.

Emily woke up shortly before and so we were ready to go to dinner in the Enchanted Garden.

Dinner went by quickly and after dinner we went to deck 11 to see Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean show. The whole walk from the table through some shops Emily walked hand in hand with Elin. Elin was very entertaining as she was tap dancing through the hallways, Emily couldn’t stop laughing.

Upstairs we split up for a moment for restroom break, Emily bursted out in tears as Elin went somewhere else but soon Emily sat besides Elin on the pool deck watching the show. As far as we could see from the distance Emily loved it, she had a continuous smile on her face and Elin took got care of her trying to keep her sitting down, sometimes she was successful for a couple seconds.

After the show it was time to split up as Emily was booked for the nursery so she could sleep and we could enjoy the pirate night. It seemed to be huge success as we were able to spent the whole evening without any interruptions. First we went shopping, then we got a cocktail and pictures with Mickey Mouse in his pirate outfit.

Next came Minnie Mouse, both also in her Pirate outfit.

After that picture the line for Donald Duck was still open and thus we went for a picture with him. I needed to warn him as he was hugging Danielle very very long…

After Donald we stood in line for Stitch with his eye patch. And as we had our pictures taken we went upstairs and found us a nice spot on deck 11 for the Buccaneer Blast & Club Pirate Show with Captain Jack Sparrow and fireworks at Sea.

After this show we went to Cabanas to have a late night snack and soon it turned 10:50which was when we were picking up Emily from the nursery. Imagining that she would be sleeping like Aurora…but nothing of that she was playing with a shopping cart instead. But she slept quite a bit according to the councillors.

As soon as we started walking back she wanted to go “naar bed”, lucky for us, she fell a sleep almost right away.

Tonight we move back to EST and have a hour less sleep, lucky for us it’s a Sea day tomorrow and we can stay in bed as long as Emily lets us. Oh and as an additional bonus tomorrow there will be the movie premiere at sea…
