Day 22: Brunch with the characters…

The end of this amazing vacation comes closer and closer. And Mama’s Annual Pass for the Disney Parks is only valid till tomorrow.  And today, as we very often go on one of our last Walt Disney World days, we go to a character dining experience.

We reserved only on Friday, but I was able to get a table in the Royal Akershus Banquet Hall for breakfast at 10:55am. The restaurant is located in the Norway pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase.

We left the villa at 9:15am and ended up being in very slow moving traffic jam to the Epcot Parking lot. This traffic jam was there because of the Princess Half Marathon which partially runs through Epcot. And that would not be the last issue we encountered because of the RunDisney event.

It took us a very long time to get on the parking lot itself and I decided just to park at the first available spot and not follow the directions of the parking lot attendants. In this case that was a good call because we were walking to the park the people in the car in front of us just moved 50 meter or so.

Finally in the park everything seemed to be ok at first until we found out that we need to cross the race track. And that was only allowed at one spot!!! And only every time there was a gap where they reroute the runners. As you can imagine with the park being open for over an hour it was really crowded and this was not fun at all. After getting pushed by others and keeping people from stepping up the stroller (with Emily) we finally made it safely across after about 30 minutes.

We were on time and checked in exactly 15 minutes before our reserved time. We waited in the designated area for a way too long time but at 11:20 we finally met with Princess Belle in her beautiful dress.

After a picture we were seated at our table  to find out the buffet part of the breakfast was empty… I complained and got explained that this happened while a lot of runners came in late. The manager agreed that this was not right and waived our complete bill. That was a surprisingly good gesture from him.

During the brunch Emily met with Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel with land-legs and Snow White. After 40 minuten Emily was tired from the excitement and we decided to go back to the villa for a lazy afternoon.

Emily fell asleep while walked to the car and she slept until we got home. While Mama and Emily stayed home I went for some groceries and when I came back Emily was sleeping…

After Emily woke up we all jumped into the pool. Emily loved it today, she went underwater at least 6 times and she smiled every single time. Also she closes her eyes when we say Emily, Ready, Go which is the warning (or announcement) for her that she is going to swim underwater. She learned so much during this vacation…

After we were done swimming we went to Twisty Treats which is a ice-cream shop in funny looking building. Mama had a German Chocolate/Vanilla  Twisty and I went for an Orange/pineapple  Twisty. And we had a Milkshake Strawberry/Banana to share.

Emily fell asleep on the way back and she slept further on my chest on the couch until it was time for her last bottle of the day.

Now Emily is probably dreaming about Mickey Mouse while we are watching the ABC Special Disneyland60 in the living room.
